Rank in Lathanderite Clergy To clear some things up, I was asked what specific ranks of the church do. To help with this, considering I have not yet found specifics online or in any of the gaming materials I own, I will simply post the following, until it is found to be otherwise. This is a general layout of what the ranking in church heirarchy might be. Dawngreeter- These are the acolytes, the caretakers of the churches. They are the individual greeters, as their title suggests, and the first face most of those in need might encounter. They are friendly and charismatic sorts, but still rather neophytes in the ways of clerical magic. Dawnlord- These are your preachers, who deliver sermons every dawn. Also charismatic, these individuals tend to be shining epitomies of Lathander's dogma. High Dawnlord- Researchers at their heart, they determine what sorts of sermons will be delivered on a daily basis. What needs touched upon for every sermon is ultimately up to them. They have little access to the more obscure of Lathanderite texts. Dawnmaster- Like the High Dawnlords, these individuals are also researchers. They happen to have a touch more access to the more obscure of texts and artifacts, but are still rather limited. It is these individuals who read and interpret Lathander's word. Morninglord- These are the indiviudals who seek out obscure texts and artifacts, as deemed by the High Morninglords. They tend to be more combat-oriented, and adventurous, hardly content to remain within the temple for the rest of their days. High Morninglord- These individuals are the most extensive researchers of Lathanderite dogma and lore. They pore over ancient texts, determining the locations of obscure texts and artifacts, divining the locations of such things with powerful clerical magics. It is their resposibility to determine what the Morninglords will seek to find, and also to determine what other texts will be available to the lower-ranking members of the clergy. Morningmaster- There are four Morningmasters to each temple, managing four different sections of the heirarchy. High Morningmaster- Each temple has one of these, who directly oversees everything in the temple.
