well lets be honest here the Paladin sucks beyond dipper, Samurai blows period, the fighter, barbarian, ranger..they are either front heavy so they become a dipper, or they just kinda suck at some stuff they shouldn't. They all have one major weakness THERE NOT FULL SPELL CASTERS! Casters can be better at being a rogue than a rogue, better at fighting than a fighter all with the flick of a finger and a brief syllable or two. If there is an advantage to gestalt it is typically party balance, most players are going to be spellcasters. It wasn't always this way, oh I remember the days, it was, oh yah 1st level! & really up thru 6th level, from here on it all changed, but up until then, I was the dominating fighter and that little worm of a spell caster hid behind me. Now some 9 levels later, I got a new sword and some cool boots, that little worm is now called master. Master teleports all over the world, travels thru planes and spk to angels, he even turned me into a nute once, well I got better! As for me I just sharpen the sword he made me so I can actually fight most things we encounter. Oh the master has returned, I better get his tea ready, you know how he likes his tea nice n hot right when he walks in the door.... SOOO is the fate of all muggles!
