Signature Settings

Is there a way to set up signatures so that it only shows the first time you post on a thread since the last time you changed it? I have used this signature for a long time and I still rather like it, but I am finally warming up to the fact that it might take up too much space on pages where I post a lot. You can uncheck the box I know, but it is easy thing to forget.

You could decrease the font size by a step or two if you're concerned about the space it takes on the page.

Is there any way to allow HTML in the signature? The settings on my User Control panel say HTML is disabled for my signature.
