sIN:The Collectors Being incarnated definitely had its advantages. For one, it kept Jack from dying of exposure. He had been sitting there on the sidewalk for two days now in the mind-numbing cold with his little change cup, looking and smelling like a bum, waiting for his Judas. It was miserable work, but hey, if he wanted to be warm, he could always go back to Hell. The thought cut him like a knife and made him shiver to the bone. The memories of Hell, like the memories of his life and death, were vague and shadowy. Perhaps he had suppressed them . . . or perhaps it was something else. Either way, he remembered just enough of his Torments to know that any suffering here on Earth, any task he was asked to do, had to be better than the alternative. The clinking of change being dropped into his cup stirred him from his contemplation. Jack looked up and there she was, walking away at a brisk pace, Ms. Danielle Holloway, his Judas. She's charitable, he thought, but knew that no amount of virtue could change her fate. You see, Ms. Holloway had made a deal with the Devil, typical suicide pact. He gives, she gets, and when it’s all said and done, she offs herself . . . and then she gives and He gets. Only, she didn’t keep her part of the bargain. That’s where the Collectors come in. Jack rose to his feet, nervously pulled his camouflage jacket around himself, and followed her down the street, trying to close the distance. In his jacket pocket, his fingers closed tightly around the filthy screwdriver, the instrument of Wrath. If she didn’t have the stomach for suicide, there were other ways to Collect the debt. *** In sIN, characters take on the roles of recently damned souls who have been reprieved from hell and returned to earth in a new body in order to serve their infernal Masters. They are not true demons, but do possess some demonic powers and abilities and use these powers to serve the Infernal Purposes. Their primary missions will be to collect on those who have made a bargain with the devil, corrupt the innocent, and generally raise Hell. *** We are adding a new campaign of sIN: The Collectors at our site.
