D&D 5E SPOILERS Vecna Eve of Ruin Question

So ive done a quick read through only

The reason the Gods and major powers dont interfere, (all of them, Zeus, Boccob, Asmodeus, Helm, Orcus) presumably all who will be out of jobs if Vecna succeeds, is that they don't know about it?

The only reason the PCs can act is that they have a Vecna link?

And the wizards Three know about it because it was leaked by Ravenlofts nebulous dark powers.

Is my understanding correct?

Thanks!

Not quite.

The reason the gods don't interfere is... well, there isn't one.

The PCs are the only ones who can get to Vecna because of the Vecna link. (The Gods still should be actively helping them, following the logic).

The Wizards Three know about it because Alustriel found out about it through unknown means. She then started recruiting allies. The Dark Powers revealed this fact to Kas, which is why he intercepted an invitation and impersonates Mordenkainen. But the Dark Powers didn't reveal Vecna's plans to Alustriel - she found out using her magic (presumably).

Cheers,
Merric
