This meant that she didn't grow up under the boot of the Galactic Empire, only seeing Stormtroopers or Star Destroyers in the holovids that made their way to the planet. Still, like many young people in the galaxy, she was quickly drawn to the romantic concept of the Rebellion against the Empire.</p><p></p><p>As soon as she was old enough, Sya left her home to join the Rebellion. It took some time, but she eventually joined up with a group of Duros and Corellian smugglers doing supply runs to the Alliance base on Dantooine. Eventually, Sya joined the Rebellion officially, helping to fill out desperately needed numbers in the small Starfighter Command.</p><p></p><p>Though her squadron was one of the many eventually assigned to Yavin Base, she did not participate in the assault on the Death Star. Instead, her squadron saw action during the last days of the base, covering escaping transports and keeping the Imperial fighters occupied. She was shot down during the operation, but managed to eject and eventually find cover in the jungles until she eventually escaped with the help of the last Rebels left on the moon.</p><p></p><p>Since then, by her own request, she was transfered out of Starfighter Command to serve as support for a SpecForce team serving under Valin Droma's command. Though the job had sounded boring initially, she was still able to get in the cockpit of starfighters over various missions, even if she had to find an excuse to do so when it wasn't all that necessary.</p><p></p><p>The realities of the fight against the Empire have made Sya a more cynical person than when she left her home. Usually, though, this shows its face in badly timed sarcasm and threats to fly off the rest of the group. Since she's never has actually done that, the threats quickly lost their edge, but Sya never stopped them and always at least tries to sound serious about it. Due to her sarcasm, any cockpit occupied by her and someone else usually devolves into arguments and yelling about her piloting skills.[/sblock]</p></blockquote><p></p>
