Yes the opening scene was in one block of text as I suspected, but I was specifically looking for where the characters were supposed start in the room. The material adjusts for the characters reactions to the blaster fire killing the Gomorrean by allowing the PCs to start ANYWHERE in the room, basically giving them a free round of preparation, retroactively. I think you ignored or missed that, and that was the equalizer in the situation making up for not getting to stop the scene from unfolding.
