Response to Bethany: Zephyros nods. “I cannot claim to have understood all that was seen. However, the vision showed our structure as old and failing. The bolt of lightning was the All Father destroying it himself before his enemies could. Perhaps he thinks my kind will prove more effective with the shackles removed.” The wizard scratches his beard. “In truth, our god had not reached out to us in centuries. The crumbling of the great giant empires had infuriated him and we were cast aside.” The wizard looks up to the heavens. “To even hear anything from him, I fear many will interpret this as the moment to strike back.” Response to Ordrar: Zpehyros looks shocked and shakes his head at Ordrar’s accusation. “My standing in the caste has nothing to do with this. I am opposed to the destruction of any life,” he explains. “I begged my master not to attack Nightstone and he ordered my execution! I escaped by the skin of my teeth and am here trying to help you all now.” The old wizard sighs. “I’m afraid many cloud giants lust over artifacts and magic. My former master heard the tales of the mysterious rock in your town square and decided it would be a valuable weapon in the coming wars.” Response to Dren: “The giants are not just at war with you. They are at war with themselves,” the wizard desperately explains. “Perhaps it was wrong to have an ordning, but it kept the peace. Now there will only be chaos as the strongest and greediest of my kind clash.” The wizard shivers. “Giants at war against armies, dragons, and their own kin. I fear there will be nothing left but ashes.” Response to Aremus: “We must find the Storm King,” says a determined Zephyros. “Lord Hekaton is the giant who sits at the very top of the Ordning. There has never been one of my kind before to exhibit such bravery and honor,” the wizard states proudly. “Not only that, but his Queen has a profound love of the small folk. The reason your world has been largely undisturbed by my kind is thanks to the two of them. They would never let this happen.” Zephyros clutches his staff. “I have unable to contact them or anyone in the royal court. I fear the worst.“ He steps towards the party. “I saw the bravery you all showed on the bridge. Please, you must warn the people of your world. Let them know of what is coming and of that not all my kind are their enemies. Most importantly, you must find The Storm King! My magic allows me to explore many worlds, but I will never be accepted in yours.” Transport: Zephyros will offer to let the party ride on his cloud to Goldenfields. They are also free to continue by wagon if they prefer.
