The Helfling is a combination of a Halfling and an Elf. I will leave how the original pairing got together to your imagination. Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2 and Your Wisdom score increases by 1 or your Dexterity goes up by 2 and your Charisma goes up by 1. Age. Although Helflings reach physical maturity at about the same age as humans, their understanding of adulthood goes beyond physical growth to encompass worldly experience. A Helfling typically claims adulthood and an adult name around the age of 60 and can live to around 450 years old. Alignment. Most Helflings are Chaotic Good, because they value freedom and goodness. However due to the social stigma being one of their race inflicts on them, some of them are Chaotic Neutral. Size. Helflings range from 4 to 5 feet tall and have slender builds. Your size is Medium. Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet. Darkvision: Accustomed to twilit forests and the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. Brave. You have an advantage on saving throws against being frightened. Fey Ancestry. You have an advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep. Naturally Stealthy. You can attempt to hide even when you are obscured only by a creature that is at least one size larger than you. Mask of the Wild. You can attempt to hide even when you are only lightly obscured by foliage, heavy rain, falling snow, mist, and other natural phenomena. Trance. Elves don’t need to sleep. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. (The Common word for such meditation is “trance.”) While meditating, you can dream after a fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep. Helflings are a mix of Lightfoot Halfling and Wood Elf. Naturally, they tend to live in forested regions. Halflings accept them as taller cousins, but Elves tend to shun them like undesirable relatives.
