Fossice/Central Market/Tavern Late morning Round 0 The dwarf finally released her and Magdalena strode purposefully out of the tavern. She didn’t see the girl in the crowd, but she did not hurry. She would find her quarry. "What do you want with Arcata?" the mage asked her. Magdalena gave the man a look. “My business is my own,” she said. She didn’t know him, and would not endanger her charge, even if this Arcata girl seemed to know him. “And if you do not want me to bring you in as well, you will not interfere.” Dismissing the man, she pulled her hood up and her cloak about her again, stepping into the crowd, following the divine sense with which she had marked the girl. She paused, pulling up short in the street, and then turned down an alleyway. The girl was close, and not moving. Magdalena scanned the refuse of the alley, seeing only beggars and urchins. Her mark said the girl was here, and it was never wrong. Muttering words in the language of magic, Magdalena felt her mark fade as her vision enhanced, revealing the magical auras in the alley. There she was. The old beggar. “Arcata, come with me if you want to live,” she said, pushing back her hood as she stepped in front of the beggar.
