The horns had continued to blast as Hanjia made a steady, ground-eating pace toward her band. Hanjia crouched now in a tree that split low on the trunk. A group of 3 of her allies had signaled her perhaps 2 minutes ago, and she followed them to the road. Perhaps 40 feet away, on the hard packed clay, a dozen trollocs had formed a line 2 ranks deep with scytheswords, axes, and maces in the northern rank and pole-hooks and spears in the southern rank, the one closer to Hanjia. Her group and 2 other small units were firing at the trollocs forming ranks in the road. Several lay dead already, more came to take their place every moment while speardancers waylayed the trollocs coming in small groups through the forest. A great plume of dust rose off the road to the north and was coming closer. It was about 100 spans distant now, just over the first hill. 2d6 (6) minutes have passed since the bandaging, so no healing of subdual damage has occurred. A map will be supplied tonight, but for now, the trollocs are mostly 40-55 feet away (the ranks are not perpendicular to Hanjia, making one side farther than the other) Al'Shain: Flourishing his twin blades, Al'Shain left a bloody spatter-mark in the shape of a V on the carriage roof as he swung both blades down past his ankles and up into the trolloc's ribcage. The beast roared with pain and stumbled back a step, its massive heel crushing the brass luggage rack like it was rope or string. Al'Shain roared back and pushed with his swords before yanking them out, sending the trolloc over the edge of the carriage to tumble for many spans before coming to a rest flat on its back with its face in the dirt. His eyes spying the forest behind where his opponent had stood, Al'Shain watched another trolloc running not far behind the carriage but off in the woods as it stared at its fallen comrade. Looking at Al'Shain, the beast roared, brandishing its axe as it collided with the trunk of a great maple with a bone-shattering thud. The axe flopped to the ground 20 feet away. The carriage shuddered again as the next wave of trollocs took hold of the vehicle. The wheels began to audibly grind with the added weight. "Ooh by the Light, here they come!" Al'Shain heard the driver wail out. Looking ahead of the carriage as it rumbled over a hill, a black stripe could be seen at the bottom of the hill. A stripe across the road that bore a striking resemblance to armed trollocs braced for a charge. Looking over the back edge, 3 trollocs clung to the carriage. combat: map incoming tonight. Trolloc line is 600 feet away, carriage is moving at roughly 200 feet per round. The forest provides a wall on both sides all the way to the ambush. Hitting the trollocs now will have the chance of dislodging them. Audrey: The Aes Sedai embraced without hesitation at the mention of a gray man. Audrey guessed her chin was probably already beginning to discolor. She never skipped a step, though, gracefully walking down the aisle to survey more of the situation. She walked past Audrey as she courtseyed, seeming to miss it entirely. Catching a glimpse of the tied off weave, the Aes Sedai turned to Audrey and asked "Who is in there?" Without waiting for a response but clearly expecting one, she seemed to hover across the dark red carpets in her light green silk dress toward the weave, keeping an eye on each aisle she passed.
