As an avid collector and GM of the game, I can say that the new edition is light years better in terms of production values and editing. I don't recall seeing a single grammar, spelling, or punctuation problem. That said, it's not perfect. It's not exactly a Tier 1 game, so the production values, good as they are, still feel like a few corners were cut to keep things affordable. Specifically, the book bindings aren't the best, and the cards feel a little cheap. But it's all serviceable, nothing so bad as to render it difficult to use (or worse). And the organization of some of the material is a bit rough due to the format of having 3 "core" books to reference (the Guide to Alpha Complex which is player-facing and in-world, the Player's Guide which is most of the rules and character generation and the GM's Guide which is the rest of the rules and options). Keeping in mind that Paranoia is meant to play fast and loose with definitions, even in the game world, there's a few spots where this becomes problematic if you read very deeply into things and expect 100% consistency. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen, is all I'm saying. My first spotting of this: the Treason Stars. This setup is GREAT in play and as a tool in the game world, but there's a couple different points in the 3 books that seem to suggest that Troubleshooters can see anyone's star rating, no matter what that rating is (between 1 and 5 stars), while other sections suggest maybe you can only see if someone has 4+ stars. The second time I noticed this was inconsistencies in the including Missions. There's a few characters that hail from a Sector that is not exactly "on the books" fully, but how this affects the display of their Names -- which in Paranoia always includes your Home Sector -- is inconsistent in such a way that it's obvious it was meant to be consistent but an editor didn't catch it. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen, is all I'm saying. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the product and have gotten three sessions of fantastic gameplay out of it, perhaps better than XP Edition gave me thanks to the more streamlined mechanics and the ability to use cards to quickly pull up random results and info. It's inarguably my favorite edition, by a lot.
