Hiya! IMNSHO, MSHA w/FASERIP FTW! (Acronyms are kind of a "thing" in superhero games, after all! ;) ). Started playing MSH back in 1984 when it hit the shelves. Only made a character and played one game of that...two years later, 1986...we got MSH Advanced! At that time I was an expert DM (with 6 years under my belt of my ripe old age of 17), so Advanced was 'obviously' what I should be playing. I wasn't wrong. :) Been playing MSHA more or less yearly, with a 'campaign' lasting from a month or two, to a year or two, ever since. Between myself and 3 or so hard-core RPG friends I've been playing with since forever (like, 3 decades plus), we have created universes of heroes, villains, vigilantes, cosmic-entities, aliens and gods...and everything in between. We probably, between all of us, have, literally, close to a thousand PC's and NPC's...all with costumes and pictures (one of my besties is an amazing artist specializing in comic-book style art). Ahhh....the memories of The Lemming, Megalomaniac, Lead, and Dr.Newt will live on in our personal Marvel Universe. :) Recently, as in last year or so (?), we have actually been playing the only other super-hero game that has grabbed our interest as much as (or more...?) than MSHA...and that game is SUPERS! ( http://superscbr.proboards.com ; and you can get the PDF and/or print on demand at http://www.rpgnow.com/product/130108/SUPERS-Revised-Edition ...I bought 4 soft-back and 1 hard-back I liked it so much!). It (SUPERS) has that fast-paced, "loose but detailed enough" feel that MSHA has. And how SUPERS handles super-heroes taking on a bad guys personal army of merc's by the dozens is just...well, it's perfect for really showing just how super the heroes are compared to 'normal folk'. ^_^ Paul L.
