The party collects their horses and moves back into the jungle to follow their original path to their desired location. Once the injured have recovered, the party travels for three more days before coming to a river flowing eastward from a lake at higher elevation. The silk collectors from Asylim will not have crossed this river to be on the party's side.</p><p></p><p>During the three days, the party does not encounter anything out of the ordinary. The typical animals include medium birds, large beetles, medium reptiles, hunting spiders, and large varmints. The second day brings a violent encounter with another clan of the sociopathic Katalians, which are quickly killed or routed. Less commonly, large birds, small game animals, and small predators are seen.</p><p></p><p>The river is surprisingly cool for a jungle, bouncing over rocks and swirling around turns in its rapidly steep decent. A few eddies and small pools show the water to be clean and clear with a gravel bottom, typical of a mountain stream.</p><p>[gm]The party will need to decide if they will travel upland toward the lake to get around the river, or downstream to find a place to cross.
