The term "imminent danger" came from the write-up in Star Wars D6 for Wookie Rage they had. Imminent danger is a roleplaying element, so the player, with GM oversight, should roleplay wether the Wookie feels his companions are in imminent danger. Chewbacca was about to try to tear apart Cloud City when Han Solo was about to be frozen, if Han hadn't calmed him down (Persuasion) to keep an eye on Leia and the others. I did base the Wookie rage off of the Spartan's Berserker exploit (half HEALTH). However, I was also trying to capture that "easy to anger" aspect is commonly depicted of Wookies. Additionally, I was looking at old material when I noted an "exploit" for elves living many hundreds of years (might have been old play test material). I recently picked up OLD Career and noted these had omitted, simply mentioning in the write-up that they live long lives. So, I agree. As I have them, some of the Wookie's exploits are more for flavoring than actual game mechanics. I will remove Life-Debt, Wookie Linguistics, and Long-Lived, and add them to the write-up versus listing them as an exploit. I also agree, exploits should actionable elements. As with the other reply, thanks for the input. It feels like I'm heading in the right direction and should be good to go for other species. Once I get a few others done that I know player in my group like to play (namely Miraluka and Tagruta), I'll introduce my players to WOIN through a know setting in Star Wars using the current NEW careers (Star Knights, Battle Psych, etc.) for any Jedi or Sith characters. Species for Star Trek, Babylon 5, Doctor Who, etc. will follow. I'll continue to share.
