Gotcha. D&D Beyond used to be owned by Curse, under license to WotC. And Curse was a much smaller company, although it changed hands a lot between Twitch, Amazon, Fandom, and now WotC/Hasbro. I think it's the same team mostly, now that WotC owns it. WotC is also small comparatively to it's parent company, but . . . so, it's complicated. :) The idea that a large company can't experience difficulties when launching a new product is a bit silly, I'm actually in the camp of "give them a break, but communicate your frustration politely to them". I initially canceled my preorder due to the unclear marketing around which cover you get on the RPG book. The initial ads made it look like you got the really cool Soth cover, but that is only available thru your local FLGS. The "deluxe" cover that comes with the bundles is neat and shiny, but nowhere near as cool. When I tried to cancel, they wouldn't let me . . . until some folks in the D&D blogosphere complained loudly, then WotC decided to process refunds if you jumped through some hoops. This initial try at physical/digital bundling has many issues, and WotC's website isn't the best for managing your customer account . . . but I'll hope they take the feedback and improve for next time. I'll certainly be more cautious before preordering the next book!
