Overview: The product comes as zip file with five files zipped up, two of the files are the adventure itself a black and white print version and a color screen version, a map book, a read me file, and a rich text format file of the npcs/monsters. The color version comes with extensive bookmarks, and a hyperlinked table of contents. The adventure is a 65 page pdf consisting of fives acts and encounters from ½ to 7ECL. The antagonist cover CRs of ½ to 5. The Acts: The five acts cover a spread of encounter areas. The adventure gives some information for bringing the characters into the campaign arc throughout the acts. There are two very hard ECL 7 encounters in the book, the second one is recommended that the characters are 2nd level by the time the encounter it. Planned random encounters are spread out amongst the various act designed to bring background information out to the characters and to bring the emotions of the players into the campaign arc. Some railroading is encountered in the adventure but it can be avoided thru a DMs natural skill and the use of some good advice from the sidebars. Summary: The first of many adventures planned for the war of the burning sky campaign arc is a good introduction into to mystery of the campaign arc. A well planned and read DM can make a masterful use of the material presented, DMs that are harried and have not a lot of time on their hands can use the adventure as written and can reward his players with some good times and good memories. Ad hoc planning and off the cuff DMing is strongly encourage throughout the adventures.
