[QUOTE="James V, post: 3858077, member: 48644"] To understand him is to understand a past that is more complex then a simple story can express. Through his trials, it is almost remarkable he is alive, from early slavery as a child, to adventurious tales, and finally to what he is now, a man free of bonds struggling to unlock the key to happiness. James and his older brother Cypress were in slave trades, sold of to a merchant for the remarkable marketing as they are certain different. Little is known about his past from then, perhaps he simply can't remember, or perhaps he chooses not to, due to all the trials, they do take a great toll on the mind. He is certainly bizaar, in a society where his looks tend to make him one of an outcast. James and his brother Cypress find a mysterious man, their height, with gray hair, and the stetch of brandy oozing. They've reunited with the last of their family. There he tells them how they ended up as side show slaves, captive by a ringleader full of tricks. He teaches them all he knows of the family which again is a rather long story and I am writing a novel about it, just waiting to clear publishers :-P. From there, The mad scientist Cypress and James split in arguement to a wealth there to inherit, James, seeking something more in life decides to suddenly leaves. Here again, James, just seem to be without much memory as these times in his life, prove to be what defines his characteristics of years to come, developing a mind that fathoms bizaar sights, into joyous ocassions, and perhaps even the most sadistic things one can see. Always though he's had one characterist, and that is lazyness. James normally is the one who finds himself controlling others during this period of time, basically outwitting them, this can be seen no more clearer then when he opens up a cemetary in Oerth. His inate ability to preach how things should be done, promising futures, bright skys, massive amounts of lies to those who have no hope. He'll wake up one day though realizing, all he's done is wasted a precious gift, that being time, he is still lonely in life. Of all things, he's always dreamed of the oceans abroad, and decides it is the time to realize his goals. He is able to sell the cemetary to oddly enough his brother Cypress, and go out to explore. Though James hasn't a clue when Cypress first came back in his life, Cypress though has been ever watchful, carefully caculating how to ruin James. James sales, seeing mystical creatures, different races, all sorts of things upon the open ocean, this is where he developes his taste for whiskey, which proves to be a great downfall in his life. As James nears the tortugas, he meets a strange pirate fellow named Jack. Jack actually offers to by James. James simply decline, instead they buy knowledge off each other, through card games, false tales, and idealistic views of how things should be done. Memories continue though to plague James, driving his sanity to the brink of destruction.
