Ilex approaches the largest tree in the clearing and examines the ancient oak. She notices plenly of miseltoe growing in its branches, but she also notices something unexpected. The mighty tree is diseased. Scaly patches and bare spots cover the bark. She also notices several woody tendrils descending from a fork in the branches about fifteen feet up. They touch the ground and then sprout in other places around the clearing. The branches of the tree sways though there is no wind to push them. Suddenly some of the tangles overgrowth starts to move! Adnaisia frowns as the hamadryad comes close. She leans back into the tree and is at once swallowed up in it, appearing again from a different nearby tree. [sblock=Initiative]Monsters: 14 Lenyara, Caim, Merri, Marrgash, Nalkyr, Chupacabra, Ilex (1d20+5=13, 1d20+1=15, 1d20+3=16, 1d20-1=6, 1d20+3=19, 1d20+5=14, 1d20=18)[/sblock] [GM]Everyone except for Lenyara and Marrgash get to act before the monsters. A few things to note, the creature in the tree has partial cover and partial concealment from all attacks. (Remember that concealment doesn't apply to area and close attacks.) It is at elevation 3, so hitting it with melee attacks is going to be difficult without climbing the tree. It has threatening reach 3 so it can hit anyone within 3 squares of the tree that provokes an OA.[/GM] MAP
