[EN Publishing] Announcing War of the Burning Sky 4E!

Morrus

Well, that was fun

With the release of the 3.5 compiled hardcover (704 pages!) in the next week, and the new GSL this week, EN Publishing can finally officially announce that we will be bringing War of the Burning Sky to 4th Edition!

Better yet, we anticipated this nearly a year ago, and the first five adventures, the Player's Guide and the Campaign Guide have already been written.

War of the Burning Sky 4E will follow the same subscription model that the 3.5 series did - twelve adventures for $5.99 each, or all twelve via subscription for $49.99. The Player's Guide and Campaign Guide will, of course, be free.

The 3.5 hardcover will be available in the next week, and the 4E subscription will be available soon after that.

In addition, for fans of the 3.5 version who can't stretch to the monstrous hardcover, we'll be releasing a cheaper black-and-white version of the hardcover, along with a number of smaller 3.5 books including: an atlas, an "Art Of" book, five bonus sidequest adventures, and a bestiary.

Man, this would have been an instant buy if only Wizards had let you use the monster stat blocks IN the encounters. I'm spoiled now by Wizards's adventures, and I don't want to have the Monster Manual nearby for reference (I don't have room near me anymore).

Arrrgh!

Fortunately, WotBS has always been fairly light on the stock MM critters, and heavy on the specific NPCs and unique monsters!

Sign me up for one. Who is writing/converting?

4E is different enough to 3.5 that it actually entails a rewrite rather than a straight conversion. The hardworking chap who has already rewritten the first five adventures and the two guides is Steve Muchow of Myth Merchant Press.

So.... You're more or less saying that it shouldn't be a problem? I just want the adventure format to reflect the way Wizards is doing theirs. Having a two page spread for an encounter with all the relevant stats right there. 4E is the first time where I REALLY like adventures thanks to the low prep time. I've got a full time job and a 1 year old son and wife, so 4E has been a godsend to us. :D

Thanks
Chris

Actual Product

Bought.

I gather the terms "subscription available" and "written" are different than "will be available"?

Given that there's an imminently painful "layout" that usually goes in there....

Any idea when the first PDF's will be available?

Hmm? Is that a statement of intent (in which case - great!), or did you purchase something? If the latter, you may have purchased the wrong thing, since it's not available yet. If so, let me know and I'll fix it.

You gather correctly! We're using the same art as the 3.5 versions, so it literally is just layout to do.

I'll know more accurately once the 3.5 compiled hardcover goes out the door. But I'd guess a couple of months at the very least.

When the 3.5 version becomes available for purchase how long will it be available until it can no longer be bought? Is this to be based on a set print run? I'd like to be able to buy the full color version, but it could take me 4-6 months to save up for it.
