Into Khybers Gate

The goblin child pushes his way through the crowd of children and making a show of clearing a path for you. He leads you through dilapidated streets where you see sights of ruin that even the meanest street on Sharn cannot match. Fallen debris, stones, and broken bricks, have been piled into walls by the more industrious inhabitants and covered by pallets and debris. Those mean hovels are mansions compared to where most of the beings live. Some are nothing more than piles of garbage that have burrow holes dug into them. Most of the residents are off working the forges, but it won't be long before their shift ends and the tired and irritable populace begins to trickle back. There is still plenty of life on these streets however. Narrowed eyes follow you as you pass by. Grotesque faces peer out from doorways. More than one resident wipes away a trickle of drool at the sight of you. None of this seems to phase your guide however. He takes you through a twisting series of tunnels through this labrynth. He turns down an alleyway and beckons you to follow.

You realize after a time of travel that you never told the goblin where you wanted to go, only that you wanted to see an alchemist. So where is the child leading you?

You see a small figure in the alleyway crouched behind a large pile of debris. He is looking towards you and clutching a broken bottle in his hand.

I never got around to rolling an amount since he was caught in the act. He would have gotten away with a few gold if he could. My line of thinking was that since he was caught he knew wouldn't get much, so he would have to demand an amount you would be willing to pay and settle for that.

Bloodtalon's claws edge out of the cloak at the sight of the bottle-wielding drunk making sure that he knows it would not be a good idea to attack this crew. As far as the learing eyes, Bloodtalon knows exactly how they feel. It was he who was often the one to watch as strangers wandered around Malleon's Gate looking highly out of place.

"Let's keep going. Stopping may attract even more attention." says Bloodtalon quietly, urging his companions on but keeping an eye on the drunk with the bottle.

"Yup. That guy surely noticed that we stopped, though, and should know we know about him. If he's sober enough, that is." Sedar keeps his hand at the dagger.

(I actually didn't plan to stop walking anyway, but stopping works as well.)

The goblin holding the bottle crouches lower as you pass him but makes no move against you. The alley you have entered is filled with piles of debris with a relatively clear path in the middle. Your guide is a dozen feet in front of you. Suddenly the child dives to the side behind a pile of garbage. You hear a noise ahead of you as two small figures rise up from behind the trash! Behind you, the lone goblin throws aside the rags covering him to reveal the armor he was wearing.
