*'Piercing the Veil' is written by Ilsyndra Tailerin. Chapter titles include 'False First Impressions--Training Your Senses and the Figment's Sirallia's Heel', 'A Pattern of Offenses--How to Escape From the Weft and Weave of Deceit', 'Beyond a Shadow of a Doubt--When the Unreal is Actually Real'.*

Ashna cannot help but smile as she puts the book back to its proper place, takes a quick glance at the parchments, and, if they are empty, takes the next door (second left in the corridor; I'm assuming the summoning chamber and the study didn't have visible secondary doors).

*One of the parchments has some quick scribbles on it:*

'Note 523 of Starm on flows versus 365 Tyndall--increased efficiency possible?'

'Starm 412's description of Energy Omegasurge--the effect unleashed by Vildaxaranthus?'

'Tyndall 692--this could be important if true. Need to design a test.'

*No major secondary doors are obvious. The next door leads to a spacious bath chamber with smoothly polished obsidian and alabaster tiles.*

*The first note references a section on energy output that seems to have a disparity in description between the two tomes. Both back up their statement with seemingly reasonable arguments. Penciled in in the margins of the Starmzerung book are some comments--'Seems to contradict Tyndall. Both make valid points but ignore the points of the other. Perhaps both are wrong and a unified theory needs to be examined.'*

*The second leads to a description on the theoretical effect of an immensely powerful Evocation infused with a chaotic mass of chromatic energy of every sort with the power to annihilate large chunks of a city or, if somehow focused, destroy a single target utterly.*

*The third leads to a conjecture by Tyndall based on reverse-engineering the drift of ley lines chronicled by ancient Medibarian scholars. He claims a possibility, based on these findings, that an individual could tap into a Tower to gain nigh-deific power. Not only that, he makes the bold claim that someone unknown did do that, evidenced by an odd and unnatural sudden shift in ley lines.*

Though Ashna would love to stay and solve this conundrum, she feels that she must press on to the next room (namely the bath; next stop after that, the second room to the right).

*The second room on the right seems to be a quiet meditation chamber. On crossing the threshold, sound from outside is muted, and there is a calming flow of mystic energies present. There are soft cushions on which to sit while meditating or contemplating.*

Ashna as usual glances around the room, and with a sigh takes the last remaining door (straight ahead), which she expects to be the bedroom.
