Need help with vb code

I'd like to create a list, but I want the pips to instead be numbers. The vb code section is not currently working, so please; Help!

If I do that, I get this:

• item 1
• item 2

You see the pips to the left? I'd like to turn them into numbers.

gives

1. First Item
2. Second Item
3. Third Item

You can also use list=a or list=A for a, b, c or A, B, C respectively.
