15th level Archivist - build help

In my FR game, I'm looking for a new character option. I love my Warmage, he's an awesome character and I have fun torching the crap out of everything in sight, but with 4ed looming, I want to get in some of the options I've never gotten to play.

Archivist, in Heroes of Horror, is one thats always intrigued me. Anyone played one or seen one in play?

What are some good build options? Feats/spells I should look at particularily? Opinions?

I'm not looking for an "optimal build" in terms of "the most uber build evar" - I know Archivist is not the most optimal choice in the opinion of many. But, I would like to optimize the Archivist class for maximum efficiency.

I know of the two feats in HoH that give more Dark Knowledge options (dragons and constructs, and giants and fey) and plan on taking those.

I realize damage and combat are not the ways to go - though I don't want to ditch Flame Strike and the like at all. But maybe no Divine Power/etc.

Al;so Magic Items? Sure Headband of Int +6 is a must, but what else?

Note that even with mediocre Wisdom, Archivists still get more base spells per day than wizards or clerics (5/day, rather than 4+1 limited selection for specialist wizards/domain clerics).

Archivists are, at the absolute least, the fourth most powerful class in the game. The only classes that have a hope of passing them up are clerics, druids, and wizards - and I'd argue that archivist > cleric and probably wizard. Hard to compete with wild shape, though.

I thought bonus spells were based of Intelligence for the Archivist, because their spells known are based off Int?

Some non-core classes have split stat dependency (see also: Spirit Shaman, Favored Soul)

Nope, from the top down it goes like this Artificer, Wizard, Druid, Cleric, Archivist. They're a solid 5 but they're still an honorable mention in the race to broken. Before you switch editions PLAY AN ARTIFICER! I mean it read the class description and go to town, just reading the entry should give you ideas on how ridiculous things can get.

For the OP I second the Artificer's Handbook.
