edit: The players did take a lot of time making decisions, especially planning the ambush. I'm not sure if this is good or bad, but I do think it's one of the consequences of our system. The choices the players make seem to be the major factor in determining success and failure, so the more time they think about things the better off they are. Not sure what to do with that, if anything. Something to keep an eye on.


This is always a bit of a breaker for me in games, if the other players spend a lot of time making plans, discussing, scrapping plans, making new ones. It bores me to distraction. I've read that one of the purposes of wandering monster checks was to force quick decisions by the players--spend too long talking and you attract monsters.
