In times ancient, a powerful artificer named Khaldun unearthed a cursed tome bound in the flesh of a medusa. Driven to madness by its secrets, he used the necromantic magic he gleaned from the book to raise an army of the dead.

Though his assault was violent and devastating, he was ultimately unsuccessful; the mightiest heroes and heroines of the realm captured Khaldun and banished him to the Netherworld -- the Land of the Dead.

Unfortunately, rather than perishing in that bleak plane, Khaldun thrived, amassing a legion of undead followers and erecting a Tomb in which he could perfect his mechanical craft without interruption. It was not long before he shed his body and became a demilich.

After several centuries of scheming, the undead warriors under the command of the "Iron Lich" have burst free of the Netherworld, laying waste to not only the kingdoms of mortal men and women, but also the exalted domains of the gods themselves.

You and your companions have traveled to the Netherworld to stead the Tomb of the Iron Lich. The traps, tricks, and guardians that ward the tomb are as lethal as they are numerous, so only the most skilled, courageous, and well-armed parties should dare enter.

You have one goal: Destroy the Iron Lich.
This is a 16th level delve written by Sersa V and Jerry LeNeave over at saveversusdeath.com; some of you may have already seen it. I've been wanting to run it for a while now and figure what better time than this? :)

Even those of you who may have read or played it already stand to get something interesting out of it, as the game can play wildly different every time you run through it thanks to some of the random elements.

The delve comes with pregens that are in fact optimized for the purposes of the adventure, but I don't believe they are strictly required; if people are interested in trying to optimize their own party, we can discuss more based on participant feedback once this ball gets rolling.

Note: This adventure is not for the faint of heart! It is NOT your standard 4e fare, and death is highly probable. If you want to learn more about what this delve represents and what its intent is, check out this link.

Upon completion, your success will be scored and recorded in the annals of history.

Need 4-6 victi...I mean, er, players!
