Frowning to himself, Tolan pads down the length of the chapel, checking down each row of pews until he reaches the double doors at the other end. He pokes his head out these doors and looks around for any sign of his quarry.

Outside on the other end of the chapel you see more fog and the tower looming over the north-east corner of the keep. There are two entrances to the tower. One on the ground floor looks well used. The other entrance leads into the tower from the wall.

Dent stood guard with Aridha, Carradoc, and Thaliss while Tolan and Damien swept through the chapel. When the pair reappeared outside, Dent quietly closed the doors to the church, then pointed at the tower just to the northeast. With a jerk of his head that the others should come, too, the knight stalked across the courtyard toward the tower door. He stuck to the foggy patches as much as possible. When forced to cross through open spaces, he walked slowly but with confidence--as if he was at home here.

Carradoc is not certain why he is not included among the silent members of the group. Are his colleagues not aware of his mastery of stealth as well as the mystic arts? He moves quickly through the room where the two sleeping figures were slain, checking for prizes, particularly in the cot that had been empty. He then stealthily moves to catch up with the others.

[sblock=Carradoc]The written symbol seems to be repeated in small places around the room. You get the feeling it matches the hand gesture that Tom made earlier. An X with a bar linking the bottom two edges.[/sblock]

As the group closes in on the north-eastern tower, they can smell the scents of animal furs in the air. You can hear beastial voices on the other side of the door.

[sblock=Tolan]You feel uneasy about something moving around the torch light to the south, near the chain. The torchlight and the fog barely were affected for a second, but they were.[/sblock]

Tolan holds up a hand to forestall the others from opening the door for a moment. He edges forward slightly, circling around the tower until he's away from the door, then he breaks into a run, suddenly darting off into the fog.

OOC: Are we talking about the end of the pier/sea wall thing that curves around on the east side of the map?

OOC: Yes.

Tolan moves through the fog. Everyone can see him move quickly down the staircase towards the waterfront, though vision is still impaired.

[sblock=Tolan]You can see the silhouette of a man or a figure in the middle of the water. The boats appear to be destroyed on the shore. It looks like the man is standing on a small island in the middle of the water within the keep now.[/sblock]

[sblock=Creamsteak]So our boats that we arrive in have been wrecked? And this guy is standing in (or on) the water roughly where? AM:28 or so?[/sblock]Tolan stops and stares out at the figure standing on the water, unsure how to proceed. He watches the figure warily for a moment, trying to determine what the mysterious individual's purpose was.

Whispering, Damien said, "Uh, guys? I don't know if we should be letting Tolan run off on his own. He did get knocked out in that last fight." The warlock seemingly ignored the fact that the barbarian had drawn well more than his fair share of attacks during the same fight. He also didn't move, keeping his eyes tracking on the door to the tower in which the bugbears reportedly inhabited.
