Help with my Paladin

Mock Mood Hi Ya

First Post
I have a 7th level paladin, oath of vengeance. When outside of combat I have him doing things like helping fix farmers fences, helping repair facilities, healing those who can not get help by local medical people and stuff like that. I wànt to know what else I can do that would be good paladin stuff. Please share with ideas and/or tell me of your past stories with paladins and cool things they did.

Here is a repost of my LE Paladin of Tiamat - Taevyn Blackwyrm from a previous thread.
I have a LE Paladin of Tiamat (Vengeance) named Taevyn Blackwyrm (my main S1 character). She is ill-tempered, forceful and demanding and has a vendetta against the Cult of the Dragon. She sees herself as the Talon of Tiamat - an inquisitor; whose role is to weed out corruption within the church of Tiamat and excise the wound (kill them), clean out the puss (their supporters), so that the dragon may grow stronger. She made it very clear on numerous occasions that it was by the Grace of Tiamat that they were spared (as she acted on behalf of her goddess to save numerous peoples).

She is convinced that the Cult of the Dragon has manipulated Tiamat, and seeks to do her harm in some fashion and is on a quest to find evidence of her beliefs. She does not believe they have suddenly changed their tune, and holds a massive grudge against them for having corrupted the Dark Queens children for centuries and transforming them into undead abominations (Dracoliches).

Ironically, she has a competitive rivalry with a LG Paladin of Bahamut. They compete with each other to prove which is the better Dragon deity, and which of the two are superior. They don't actually seem to hate each other however, it comes across more like a sports rivalry than anything.

There was an entire thread devoted to this character over on the defunct wotc website, but alas - I never made a backup of that thread.

I was going to say Curing the diseased etc but It sounds like you are already doing that.

Your character might escort people from location to location in wartorn areas. If he has any strange language skills he could translate things for people. You have access to Purfy food and water... useful in areas with poor food security and disease. Paladins also get locate object: locating stolen family heirlooms etc

Remove Curse would also be useful for occasions.

Oath of Vengeance paladins make great Corrections officers, or hooded executioners. After all, you probably didnt kill all of the cultists. Many of them still deserve their rightful punishment.

They are the kind of army generals that can launch the heads of their enemies in catapults at the rest of their, and see it as an act of mercy.

Did you catch a scoundrel of a magic-user who has Prestidigitation? To atone for HIS crimes, he has to go help the cook in a soup line:
- the pork'n'chicken meat loaf tastes like a Chateaubriand
- the shredded cabbage tastes like a Caesar Salad, and
- stretch that bit of maple syrup to cover Bananas Foster for everybody.
Even the poor and misfortunate should get a good quality meal once in a while !

The whole thing wears off after an hour - long after everybody has had a chance to eat.

Oath of Vengeance?

How about having him work part-time as a bounty hunter for the local authorities? If it's a small town, just starting up, maybe rope him into being the new sherriff? (I'm definitely cribbing from HBO's Deadwood there.)
