"Ho boy," Ilshana said, her eyes widening at the thudding tromp of two fire giants. "Boy, why go looking for adventure when adventure finds you," she breathed with a shaky laugh.
Well, there were worse ways to go than being crushed by giants. That was pretty legendary, wasn't it? Maybe?
But not NEARLY as much as stopping them!
She lifted her hands and began to sing a solitary, forlorn wordless note. Phantom music rose up around her as the magic concentrated, and built into a crescendo that would have been appropriate for a sunrise after a long night...the melancholic edge of the melody turning into something joyous and uplifting.
The air above the giants was suddenly riven by twisting sheets of color, rippling and undulating in shades of blue and green and violet. The lights of the north, the mighty aurora...the beauty was transfixing. Even if only they could see it.
(Hypnotic Pattern on the giants! Wisdom save DC 15 or be incapacitated. An adjacent creature can spend an action to wake one up, or they awake if they take any damage. It is a Concentration duration of 1 minute otherwise.)
