Unusual Cover Story Situation in Adv. 4 (spoilers)

So my group is starting Adventure 4 and are in the process of doing the three goals to get ready for the train. We ended last session with Delft explaining what they need to do and then I gave them time over then next couple of weeks to come up with some ideas. Well, it's nearing the session date and my group has come up with a cover story that I find problematic. Our group has 5 players - an assimar cleric who follows the philosophy of Millerism (yeah, I KNOW RIGHT!!!), a female wood elf gunslinger (homebrew class), a female wood elf alchemist (who is the twin sister of the other wood elf), a female forest gnome bard, and a male human engineer (another homebrew class). They wanted some information on Nalaam and I explained it basically the way it is in the adventure....decadent casino city, run by mages, Swiss banking, lots of illegal stuff goes on there, Romanesque gladiator arena fights, slavery, ect. The next thing I know, I get an email from the players saying that they have finalized their cover story.....the two wood elf females will be disguised as female high elf twins and the other three are their slave owners/bodyguards and they are taking them from Danor to Nalaam to sell them, and then when they get to Nalaam, 'sell' them to a Crisillyiri nobleman, and then escort them to Vendricce to where the nobleman awaits his prize.

If you've read or played through the adventure, then you can understand my dilemma here. I was thinking this could be done, but then Elanor is going to realize that the group can't possibly be who they say they are since she would know who is all involved in the trade of high elf females. I feel like she would know that there are two high elf twins ready to be sold. The two players of these characters often use their beauty and charm to get through the investigations (very high Cha), so these 'slaves' would be beautiful. They haven't thought about hiding them under layers of clothes.

Should Delft 'dissuade' them from this cover story since it can be problematic for reasons that only I know about or let it go and have Elanor cause them a lot of headaches?

I'm thinking it could be interesting, Elanor can hire her own posse to take the group down so she can steal the twins for herself, maybe she'll drug the PCs by 'offering them expensive wine', drop the three 'bodyguards' off at the next stop and chain up the twins and sell them in Nalaam, until she realizes that they are fake......

Let your players' actions contour the nature of the adventure's challenges. Maybe allow a couple checks to get the details right, though, so it feels like they had a chance not to completely screw up.

In any event, Elanor probably wouldn't ever go to Ottavia for help, so the party's main isn't terribly jeopardized.
