Nothing's stopping you from simply making an attack with Haste and then readying an action though.

I don't know if you can do that though. The wording from Ready in the PHB makes it sound like you can't take any action if you plan to ready. This is a little more evident from the portion about movement and Readying where it says you can take your full movement as part of the Ready Action.

That being said, I did not see any Sage advice regarding this.

Ready consumes an action and your reaction. Normally, you only have one action, but if you are hasted, you have a second action, the limited action afforded by Haste. You can perform the Haste action first and use your regular action to Ready.

Nothing's stopping you from simply making an attack with Haste and then readying an action though.
That works fine, but you give up using a SCAG cantrip for the first. Should be fine for the readied haste action.
