Since Charlie Brooker hit gold with Black Mirror, a couple of similar shows have arrived.

Black Mirror - clearly the leader right now. A few seasons in now. Now a Netflix show I think.

Dimension 404 - first episode was OK, but the next few were dire. I’ve quit this one.

Philip K Dick’s Electric Sheep - just giving the first episode a try. Looks like there’s 6 episodes.

The last two are both brand new.

Black Mirror has been around a few years. This year, Brooker made a deal with Netflix so the latest season is produced by them and features 50% of the episodes set in America.

They’re all sci-fi one-off stories, usually with some near future real world setting with a social/technological commentary of some kind. Black Mirror in particular enjoys extrapolating current technology into the near future and subverting it. Similar to what I hear that Orville episode did (which sounds like one of the Black Mirror episodes from this year).
