Feats for specialist wizards - a different incentive

Inspired by what I thought the topic was for the thread 'Wizard specialization incentives', I was working on feats only specialists can take - or perhaps generalist wizards could if they paid an appropriate price...

For instance,

Subconscious Coherence (General, Magic)

Prerequisite Illusion specialist or the feats spell focus & greater spell focus w illusion

Benefit: figments you create gain an additional sensory factor and shadow spells gain an additional 10% reality (only if they have a base reality listed).

Part is the Whole (General, Magic)
Prerequisite: Illusion specialist or the feats spell focus & greater spell focus w illusion

Benefit: the addition of a material component, a piece/sample of what the illusion you are creating is (a red dragon scale to create an illusion of that red dragon) increases the save DC by +1 (cumulative with spell focus feats) and doubles the duration. This only applies to shadow magic and figments.

Well, any ideas/feedback/suggestions/.... :heh:

Smoke Born (General, Magic)

Prerequisite Evocation specialist or the feats spell focus & greater spell focus w Evocation, able to cast (and know) at least 3 fire spells of at least 6+ total levels (such as a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level spell)

Smoke does not impair your breathing nor cause nasea, and you can see 5' deeper through smoke (typically smoke limits vision to 5'). You do not ignite when exposed to fire (such as by alchemical fire) unless you choose to.

My Word is Your Deed (General, Magic)

Prerequisite Conjuration specialist or the feats spell focus & greater spell focus w Conjuration, able to speak 2 of the following languages from the following list; any elemental tongue, infernal, celestial.

While you may not understand the language spoken by creatures you summon, those able to understand any language always understand your spoken commands.

Keep 'em coming! The Spell Focus feats were sorely lacking. These help round out the specialist wizard.

My Word seems a little on the weaker side. Does this feat work in relation to only summoned creatures, or any creatures encountered?

Oh, man, don't stop now! These are /great/. Specalist wizards need some more flavour than is out there... Unearthed Arcana went a step, but these are just cool! (Plus, they are totally what my new campaign and it's bizarre magic need to spice things up!)

Ahh, my bad-- it was Technik4 and myself.

Here is the thread ours were in.

So, you both said you were working on more feats in this area. Have either of you come up with some more? I love the potential in both flavours! Feat options for mages, oh my!

Not I, as of yet- it's on the list but the priority lately has been in trying to catch my story hours up (each is about 8-9 sessions behind at the moment).

Maybe I'll take a fresh look at them after work tonight. :)

Past the Threshold (General, Magic)
Divination specialist or Spell Focus Divination

Sense when you pass through a moderate magic area, sense a Strong magic field within 5’ and an Overwhelming magic field within 30’. Use the spell Detect Magic for the parameters of a magic fields intensity.

Gain +2 to search and spot checks if the object/creature/effect has a strong magic field, +4 if it is overwhelming.
