Minotaur. Mummy. Otyugh. Remorhaz. Stirge. Troglodyte. Three decades of gamers have grown up with these iconic monsters from the original RPG. Now the monsters are all grown up too--and they’ve got a posse. Masters and Minions: Never trust anyone over 30.

In Behemoth3's Horde Book 1: A Swamp-full of STIRGES, you’ll meet the hollow husk, an undead created when stirges bleed a humanoid to death; the ashmalkin, a miniscule and malicious fey that launches its alchemical weapons from a stirge’s back; the blood bloat, the next stage in a stirge’s life-cycle; and the stirge swarm, a cloud of winged blood-suckers that darken the skies above their nest.

Horde Book 2: Maze of the MINOTAUR brings you the tauron, digger of tunnels and beloved pet; the minotrice, a stealthy huntress; the Minotrice Maze Mage, tattooed mistress of magic; and the Bull Lord, patriarch of his herd, whose cruel horns and enormous axe have brought an end to the saga of many great heroes.

And in Horde Book 3: Rage of the REMORHAZ you’ll find the remorla, a lava-spewing remorhaz larva; the haz moth, a dazzling and deadly denizen of the skies; the wyrmen, worm-riding giants and shepherds of their monstrous flock; and the Ice Queen, mother of them all, whose fury can split glaciers and melt mithral.

These first three installments in Behemoth3’s Masters and Minions series will make their debut at Gen Con Indy 2004.
The next three releases in the Masters and Minions series will be available in time for Christmas 2004:
Horde Book 4: Offal Pits and OTYUGHS
Horde Book 5: Tomb of the MUMMY
Horde Book 6: The Trouble with TROGLODYTES

Sounds interesting, the mummy one sounds potentially very interesting.

Brian Stith is the lead designer on the Mummy Horde, and I've been very interested to see what he's doing with it too! The monsters in this Horde have the greatest spread of challenge ratings of any of the books so far:

Scarab Beetle Swarm, CR 3
[Mummy, CR 5]
Ushabti, CR 7
[Mummy Lord, CR 15]
Canopic Jar Guardian, CR 19
Praenomen, CR 24

Of course, those are just the base creatures - once you start adding templates, class levels, and racial levels the sky's the limit!

And a certain kind of epic level character is going to be really, really tempted to devote themselves toward becoming a Praenomen...
