[IRON DM] Spring 2004 SIGN UP HERE, Monday 12:30 PM EST

Wulf Ratbane

Adventurer
That's right, it's time to start talking about it.

The only thing set right now is that WULF RATBANE is judging, so those of you who habitually feign deference to my writing skills may now start genuinely worrying about having me in the judging seat.

We'll use this thread for planning, and for sign up, which will take place in this thread starting, probably, tomorrow. I will post more details here.

I'd like feedback on the size of this tourney-- although I liked the 12 entrant, 3 finalist format of the last one, I'd like to save that format for special occasions and I don't want to bite off more than I can chew.

So I'd like to do the usual 8.

A spot is reserved for Enkihdu, as the last tourney's champ.

THE ACTUAL CONTEST THREAD (WHERE ENTRIES ARE POSTED) CAN BE FOUND HERE:

I think the traditional 8 contestants is the best place to start for a first time judging.

Just let me know when sign-up will start - I am feeling creative lately.

As a finalist in the winter tournament, I'd have to say that I liked the 12 contestant, double-elimination format of the final. It gave me, at least, a chance to recover from a small stumble.

That being said, 8 contestants seems a lot more managable - so that's my vote (reserving the right to change my mind if, for some reason, I don't manage to make it into the initial 8 slots :D).

Yahoo! I was looking forwadr to another one of these. I like the 8 contestant format, especially for Wulf's first time judging. I'll be looking for sign up to start.

Is it already time for another one of these?

Wow.

By the way, it seems to me that the best way to start sign ups is simply to announce approximately when signups will start about 24 hours in advance. That way eveyone knows when to start looking.

Nemm, what's the most fair time of the day to start taking signups? (Taking into account our Aussie friends?)

12:30 pm EST always seemed best to me - since people even 12 hours ahead have an opportunity to stay up and sign up and those only four or five hours ahead or behind can reasonably expected to wake up for it or be around for it at dinner or after work. . .

Sign-up begins 12:30 PM EST on Monday.

Please do your part to keep this thread bumped till then.

Enkidhu is guaranteed a spot; the other 7 are up for grabs.

Two questions:

1) Will sign up occur in this thread?

2) Uh, I forgot. . . make that one question. . . :o
