Boston EN World game day on Saturday, January 29th

It's that time again! The next Boston Game Day will be on Saturday, January 29th. Mark your calendars now and sign up in this thread to run or play.

Location: Chez Piratecat in lovely Newton Center, MA (just west of Boston.) We're very convenient to the T and have ample parking. Directions can be found here.

Time: Breakfast at 8am (bring stuff to share!) First game from 9 am - 1 pm. Lunch from 1 pm - 2:30 pm (we'll order pizza.) Second game from 2:30 pm - 6:30 pm.

Games: I'll update a game schedule in the second post of this thread. We can run five games at a time (dining room / living room / library / game room / kitchen); assuming six people and a DM to a game, we can thus accomodate about 34 folks.

So please come! It'll happen snow or shine, and this is a wonderful opportunity to meet other EN Worlders in the area and scope out people for your own game. It's also a great chance to try games other than D&D. Sign up below to let me know you're coming; once DMs volunteer (hint hint), you can sign up for specific games. This is also going to double as Capellan's "Welcome!" party, as he arrives here from Australia for a year and a half work assignment. Since I'm going to sign him up as a DM without asking him, his games are not to be missed.

The father of a gorgeous socialite has gone missing, lost on a secret archeological dig somewhere to the south. Can you find him -- and thwart the nefarious villians who want him to stay lost? In the spirit of Indiana Jones and Sky Captain, and chock full of pulpy goodness. Six players, pre-gen characters, all rules will be taught.

9 years ago, the alien Braak conquered Earth. The surviving remnants of humanity were shepherded aboard huge ships and scattered to slave worlds throughout the galaxy.

9 days ago, human rebels seized control of one of the great Braak vessels. Their quest: to find the other remnants of humanity and forge a new homeworld, free of their alien overlords.

9 seconds ago, the newly christened ship Rebellion arrived over the planet Hawkonia.

Now, her crew are about to find out just what they're up against.

Game 3 (game room): Umbran's Marvel superheroes game (original 'FASERIP' edition)
A mob of misbegotten misfits shall meddle in the machinations of a mad malefactor!

This game has very little in the way of a learning curve, so have no fear that you don't know the system. All required rules will be taught, pregenerated characters will be provided, standard disclaimers about how you shouldn't jump off of buildings just 'cause you saw a superhero do it inserted here.

What's a mid-winter drive from Ohio?

I'm thinking of running Grim Tales western called "High Noon at Cactus Flats" as my second game, but I think I'll wait for a while to decide; I may want to play the second slot instead. So many games, only two slots.

To get to Silvermoon's was 17 hours and only 14 hours on the way back.....

I would love to come! Not too far of a drive for me (about an hour) and I'm somewhat familiar with the area (I used to live in Watertown).

I'm not very picky on games but I definitely would like to try anything non-D&D, preferably something more modern or non-fantasy. I would also really like to try anything Grim Tales. I think I would prefer just to play this first time around.

I'd love to come as well — haven't played in a RL game since July, so that'd be cool. As far as running something, I'd have to think about it — I'd be concerned that if the weather made driving up from the Cape undoable that I'd be letting folks down, so for now, I'm a player (which hopefully doesn't read half as bad to everyone else as it does to me).

I've never done anything like this before, but, I'm up for something new. What kind of breakfast things should be brought?
