Entrance
-''Don't worry. Everything is under control.'' the guards replies in the same tone.
Suddenly one of the vigil shouts:
-''Sergeant, we need the wards up, NOW!''
The leader does not hesitate, he pulls out a small tube and smashes it into the wall. The other end ignites. He then throws it at the base of the gate. Suddenly, greenflames flare up and lick the walls, soon covering every visible brick. Unprepared, some agents hurriedly move away from the wall in alarm.
-''This will hold until we get reinforcement. Tao?'' says the sergeant.
The Jadite's eyes are closed, a look of deep concentration on his face.
-''I have already passed it on to Gelname, sir. Konrad, what are you seeing?'' asks the jadite to the vigil.
-''Zombies, of course. Also, shadows, lots of them. But they can't beat the ward and move through the wall...''
This annuncement is followed by inhumans wails that can be heard performing a crescendo of frustration.
-''Ah Ah, suckers!'' exults Konrad bu then his body becomes taut with tension. ''****, here is one of them squid monsters. It's huge and it's fast!'' shouts the vigil.
A loud crashing sound echoes in the hall. The gate holds for the moments but everyone felt the wall shaking. Then another blow and another ring in the entrance hall. The gate can't hold forever.
-''Tao?'' shouts the sergeant urgently.
-''Yes sir. Mordekai is on his way.''
Visible relief washes over the guards even as more crashing sound is heard. Then the gate caves in partially and a long, powerful black tentacle slips in an opening, grabbing one of the guard who screams in terror. Teh other guards surge forward, hacking at the tentacle.
-''Come on people, Mordekai is coming, we just have to hold a bit longer!''
