Even Newer(er) Tavern Thread: The Hanged Man

Artemis lets out a slow, low whistle after Phoenix's display. The human slowly stands, iron rod in his left hand. He grasps his right hand fingers into a fist and blade of darkness extends slowly from his hand. Despite it's darkness, the blade hums and glows with faint light. Motes of light and shadow circle it's length.

"You only live once," he states, mostly to himself.

"Gil, keep Lerrick down and safe."

OOC: Artie is in for the action. He may get squashed, but he's in :)

OOC: having nothing else to do with Max, I'd enter, but I need a 18 to hit this guy's Will
OOC: Better than my current character in the inn. Only being level 1, Graven literally CAN'T hit any of this guys defenses. On the other hand, he DOES have magic missile that doesn't need to roll to hit. 6 damage per turn!!! I could also mark him, but a level 1 marking a level 16 solo brute just sounds like asking to die...

I'm behind you Artemis. Gil rasps in hushed tones, I think this falls into IAC jurisdiction.

OOC: Gil is in, updating CS tonight, ministat is accurate below.

[sblock=Gil ]

[sblock="Readied" Immediate Actions]

Phantasmal Henchman (Immediate Interrupt)
Trigger: An ally within 10 misses an enemy with an attack.
Effect: Gil conjures a Phantasmal Henchman in a square adjacent to the target of the triggering allies attack. The Phantasmal Henchman stays TE of Gil's NT. Gil's allies can flank with the Phantasmal Henchman. As a move action, Gil can move the conjuration up to 6 squares. Once, before the end of Gil's NT, Gil can use the Phantasmal Henchman Attack power.

OR

Moonstride (Immediate Reaction)
Trigger: When an enemy moves adjacent to Gil.
Effect: Gil becomes insubstantial TENT, and shifts 2 squares away from the triggering enemy

Lerrick, wanting no part of a physical fight, gets up from her seat and moves slowly walks backwards until her hands hit the wall. As she does so, her eyes turn from emerald green to bright silver, as does the mark on her forehead. You can count on my healing...fire master.

initiative roll: 10

ooc: I'll have Lerrick's statblock later tonight. CS pending: Level 6 Cleric

OOC: He's level one, how attached can you be to him? ;)
OOC: I've actually been thinking about that. Haven't done anything, so it's not exactly hard to remake a new character if he dies :p. Ah hell, why not, might as well fling around some magic missiles.

Graven stands from the table and looks at the two combatants, feeling strangely compelled by the flaming woman's speech.

OOC: All. Hate to leave you hanging like this, but my laptop just died. I'm writing this from one I borrowed. Evidently Win7 was pushing an updated that went bad and corrupted the Bitmap volume in Sys32. That pretty much bricked the OS. I'm hoping I can connect to the HD using an external HD shell via a USB cable or something in order to recover the files. Then I got to figure out whether or not I can fix the problem or need to reformat. Any ideas? Right now all I get is a blinking cursor after the Bios boot screen.

I plan on living forever. Or die trying.

Put the windows installation disc in and select repair. And even if you have to re-format, I hope you didn't put your data on system partition. Did you? Well, if you did, next time don't :)

OOC: @Neurotic : Point well taken. Even the data on the sys partition can be recovered with file recovery software. I'm pretty sure it's a startup file set that got corrupted. I think the directory structure is still in tact. If I can boot windows from a CD, I think I can save most if not all of that data. It's really just having to take the time to do it that hacks me off. :erm:
