Good to see the enthusiasm for Dread! I played it once at Gameday with Pbartender and it was a hoot.

Fiasco and Microscope are smaller events (3-4 people), and it's usually best to put them at the small tables, A and B. Both are also pretty wobbly, iirc. Let's leave things as-is and if we need to adjust the day of, we can. We'll also have a better idea of how many actual signups there are for each.

Those early table-bump, accidental knockdowns often set the mood and raise the tension.

I'll bring my Dreadstool, then, and we'll play it by ear. (I mean, that IS a GM specialty, right?)

AM or PM event, D&D 4e, 16th level adventure

Howdy,
I would like to run a game, prefer morning, but evening is ok also.

System: D&D 4e (pre-Essentials characters)
Players: up to 6
Table: no preference, bigger table is better.
Title: Raid into the Shadowfell (with homemade Hirst Arts 3d terrain)

Summary: As a side effect from the recent attack on the Genasi city of Glass Mesa in Akanul by the insane necromancer Gurwenzler (who was killed by our band of adventurers), a portal has been opened between the Shadowfell and the middle of the town square right after his death. Every few hours some undead monstrosity comes through and starts killing tavern drunks and merchants. While not necessarily a bad thing, it is bad for business and must be stopped, not to mention they are giving your kids nightmares.
One of the town elders, a high level rogue, has already reconoitered the portal and has informed the town council that your group will need all 3 of the temples raise dead scrolls, leaving you to wonder how dangerous this mission really is.
Your group of retired adventurers have volunteered to save the town and now stand poised to enter the portal. Once through the portal the group must find the creater of the portal, kill them and make it back within 1 hour of his death or the portal will close. With luck, you should be home in time for dinner, your spouse is making apple pie, your favorite. You have heard that dieing makes you quite hungry.

Experience: Familiar enough to understand the combat sequence and how to work as a team. This will be heavy on miniatures combat.

Location of 16th level Pregen's, the top 6 files ending in *16.PDF
The March 2nd version is a place holder, permanent files will be uploaded by March 4th.

Okay, folks, in order to make room for SuddenImpact's D&D 4e event, I have removed my Stars Without Number event from the roster and moved my Marvel Heroic Roleplaying game to the afternoon. It seemed only fair since I was running two events. Gotta spread the Gameday GM love!

That, and there was no way I was going to deny SuddenImpact the chance to bust out his Hirst Arts terrain.

We now have a full roster of EIGHT events in each slot. BOOYAH!

If we see any cancellations, I will be ready to run my SWN event as a backup.

Thanks for the slot, Buzz.

As an aside, due to the horrible Hybrid game you mentioned, I debated changing the name of the gaming engine when I learned of it. But then, I thought, "hey, it was mine first, it actually stands for something, its rules actually make sense, and players have been calling it HiBRiD for 18 years, so who am I to change it?." Most people at Gen Con over the past decade just call it Canyonside anyway, as it is the underlying theme to all the games I run there.

I hope your visit to the HiBRiD_Theory site provided some insight as to what to expect. :)...I'm looking forward to running the game....

I just added the character concepts for the 12 pregenerated characters that we will be starring in Red Dawn at Canyonside to the HiBRiD Role Playing Engine facebook page. For those eschewing facebook due to privacy concerns, here they are:

Al “Ka Boom” Minh Leong
An Asian-American stuntman who is fed up with being the nameless bad guys' henchman in movies and instead wants to quietly prove he can kick ass like the best of them .

Russel Snake “Jack” Burton
An everyday guy who is just experiencing some extraordinary things and just wants to get home, drink a beer, eat a hoagie, and drive his truck with a life of freedom on the open road with the occasional hook up with a hot chick for some short term lovin' on a Saturday night or a short period of time

Matrix “Dutch” Hauser-Richards
A highly trained and skilled commando with a strong sense of honor who just wants to do the right thing in the field & to hell with the rest of a military/CIA complex that has double crossed him times too numerous to count

Johnny “Jake the Crow” Murata
A philosphy student who grew up in Hong Kong then moved to America to study philosophy; who believes in only using violence to set the wrong things right; who takes pride in his skills and wants to live up to the reputation of martial expertise that was the legacy of his father before him.

John “Bruno” McHallenback
A wise-cracking, no-nonsense, harmonica playing ex-cop who has lost his wife and kids and will do whatever it takes to save her or them

Scott “Lone Wolf” Braddock
A fundamentalist, right-winged, ass-kicking Texan ex-Ranger who has strong feelings and always fights against all things communist, unAmerican, and related to drug dealing

Dillon “Action” Creed
A golden-glove-winning heavyweight boxer and Harvard law graduate who despises drugs, doesn't understand street slang, and is trying to employ the black op techniques he used in the CIA to make the world a better place

Marion “Sly Cobra” Rambolone
A former porn star & battle-hardened Vietnam vet who went on to become a heavyweight professional boxer and ended up a cop who thinks “crime is a disease...and I'm the cure”

Random Ninja
The faceless ninja henchman who always seems to fade into the background; who does useful low profile things until the fight scene...then he comes screaming with a yell and dives into the fray with reckless ninja abandon

Jean Claude Van Splitts
A California pretty boy who feels like he has to prove he really can fight despite the fact that that he really is just the gym rat with some fancy moves that everyone says he is

Chris “Dolph” Kenner
An LA cop who likes Japanese food and culture, lives by the bushido, and surrounds himself with all things Japanese, but knows California law quite well and has an ax to grind with any who pervert the bushido in any way

Mason “Nico” Ryback
An ex CIA operative who ran black bag operations in Laos, then returned from 'Nam to save the environment, stick it to those who think they are above the law, & punish those who would harm little kids in any way, be it drug dealing, child porn, or subjugation of the childrens' parents.
