[February] What are you reading?

How are you finding it?

I got sidetracked with The Winter King by Bernard Cornwell but I'll get back to it soon. Britain B.C., though, is an incredibly dense work. It's definitely going to require I tackle it in chunks so I have time to digest what I read.

It gets a bit better, but possibly more confusing, towards the middle & end as he gets more recent and there's more evidence to discuss.

Now reading Dream London. It's super weird.

I'm going to start reading Ready Player One again....After the last i read it, I thought if i were in the OASIS, i'd use a super star destroyer as my main ship or even base with some sort of AI to help control it....

I'm about 2/3rd of the way through Grave Peril by Jim Butcher, which is the third book in the Dresden Files.

So far, these have gotten better with each book.

Read "the religion war" by Scott Adams (of Dilbert fame; interesting read) and Disciple of the dog by Scott Bakker (meh). Am reading Neuropath by the same author (which is pretty good so far). With any delivery chance I'll be able to finish Scott Bakker's (it's a Scott Bakker month) Prince of Nothing series.

Recently finished Shadow Ops: Control Point by Myke Cole, described as "Black Hawk Down meets the X-Men". It was okay, but I'm not sure that kind of military-heavy jargon is a good fit for me.

Currently reading Promise of Blood by Brian McClellan. It's... as advertised by the title. It's another war story, this time in a fantasy world. Pretty good so far, though it takes itself a bit too seriously for my taste.

Finished The Years Best SF Vol. 1; working on The White Lioness. This diverges from the template a bit by switching viewpoint characters every so often; I don't really like it. Overall I've gotten accustomed to Mankell's style, but it's never going to really wow me, I think.

I recently finished the last book of A Song of Ice and Fire and am almost done reading The Last Dragon, a story about the last elf who need to find the last dragon to make the world a better place for human kind.

I bought some new books, so I'll have to decide what to read next. I just love reading (and holding the actual book, not a kindle or nook version ^_~)

This evening I finished G.R.R. Martin's A Feast for Crows.

I then went to the Boston Public Library's site, and borrowed Jim Butcher's Ghost Story. We'll see how that goes.
