Dragonlance Dragonlance Lives

So, am I the only one that saw what happened on twitter after WotC said they needed specialists to revive it?

If I am the only one, Margret Weis approched Chris Sims. Once she did Chris directed her and Cam Banks to talk to Mike Mearls.

If The two of them are so much as involved...

Well, I struggle to express my enthusiasm. I find words failing me at the possibility.

For my part, Dragonlance is better off dead. I will always have a soft spot for the War of the Lance, but the Age of Mortals was lackluster and everything from the War of Souls on reads like terrible emo fanfiction.

I don't blame Weis and Hickman; I think the only thing harder than losing control of your creation has to be getting it back after it has been damaged beyond recognition by a third party.

Dragonlance got really short shrift, and it's a crying shame, but nothing can change that now. They should just let it sleep.

I agree. Dragonlance was a one-trick pony that got flogged to undeath. I too enjoyed the War of the Lance stories, but Ansalon always felt too small to be a proper RPG setting to me.

I disagree I have played and run many games from AD&D to 3E set in the Dragonlance setting. I know I will run more in the future.

I have never understand why when people don't like something they think it shouldn't be made. It easn't it easier to notjust buy it and let the people who enjoy it have access to it?

Woot? Could you link please? That is exciting news! I realy hope they will make a new 5e take on the war of the lance, I never had the opportunity to play them and from my POV 5e will be he best edition to do so.

To me as well Dragonlance is an important part of what D&D is. If there's a 5e Dragonlance setting book that that's another reason for me to get the core books. Right now I'm on the fence and if there is a Dragonlance book then that's a HUGE plus in my book.

I agree. I feel the same way when people complain about "splat bloat," as if they are compelled to buy splat books they don't want.

What's stopping you from just rewinding the clock back to a time before the Age of Mortals and playing in that era, or just having the whole chaos war never happen in your Dragonlance world? I feel the same way about the spell plague in the Forgotten Realms. I hate it. But, thankfully, nothing's stopping me from just using my 2e and 3e FR setting books and having the spellplague never happen in my FR.
