This is absolutely devastating. I know he's been struggling with depression and bipolar disorder for quite some time (hell, it's obvious if you've ever seen his live show...that much manic energy just has to have a pretty serious crash that comes along with it), but this still hurts.

He's always been one of my favorite comedians...him and George Carlin. Rest in peace, my good sir...I will shed a tear for you.

The man clearly had "problems", and over the years tried various ways of dealing with it, be it self medication of drugs & alcohol or counselling & rehab'. In many ways, that he survived as long as he did was a miracle.

But whilst he was with us he was INCREDIBLE! And one of ours.

Rest well Mr Williams.

Everybody learned what Carpe Diem means from the man.

It's a shame things were that bad for him, as he made a lot of people happy.

It is also unfortunate that this is going to impact a lot of people on his show with Buffy.

He will be missed. The Fisher King is one of my favorite movies ever.

Oh, goodness. I loved that one when I saw it in the theaters, and I haven't seen it since. I'll have to go back and watch it.

Aha! It is available from Netflix for streaming! Booyah! Unfortunately, "Dead Poets Society" and "Good Morning, Vietnam" are only available on disc.

Unsurprisingly - those three big movies are also currently sold out on Amazon. As is "Patch Adams" and "Good Will Hunting".

I wouldn't be surprised if Netflix puts them up in the next couple of weeks as tribute.

If they don't have them now, that would be because they don't currently have license to show them. I don't know if they'll get that license on short order.

If your talking about The Crazy Ones...that show was canceled..which I'm sure had some sort of impact on his depression, as someone who is still fighting that fight I know that almost anything can make it better or worse. Will Wheaton wrote up a nice bit about depression a while back and linked to it the other day http://wilwheaton.net/2012/09/depression-lies/
