Agreed. The thing is what it is. If you evoke it in image and name, you're setting the audience on a particular path, and should only jerk their chain for calculated effect, not just because.

You are absolutely right here. Now let's feed it back into the Dragonborn. Dragonborn. From "dragon" - the iconic monster of Dungeons and Dragons, large, imposing, scaly, and fire breathing. And "born" - given birth to live (like most mammals and few reptiles). Of course that Dragonborn hatch (like dragons) is ironic here - but the born part at least to me indicates some mammalian relationship - and the general shape is a fusion of dragon traits and human traits. Dragonborn aren't Silurians, Lizardfolk, or Kobolds.

And for anyone saying that something biological in specific (that doesn't break the laws of physics, like dragons in general) makes no sense, read WTF Evolution and get back to me.

Just to chime in here, sorry Elf Witch, I wasn't clear in what I said.

You are fine. You stated a preference and leave it at that. You aren't trying to justify that preference using anything other than the fact that you don't like it. No problems at all.

IOW, what Dire Bare is saying, only he's saying it better than me and he's more handsome and I hear he smells fantastic. :D

Thank you. When a thread goes on this long I have noticed that sometimes it is easy to lose track of who said what.

And we all are passionate about our hobby are we would not be posting.

There is nothing in modern science taht tells us that a fictional humanoid hybrid of a dragon and a human can't have boobs.

There is nothing in modern science that tells us anything about anything fictional. If you're going to make a point about how dragonborn are fictional and not real, and science need not apply, then be honest. Fiction is all authorial opinion. Any particular fictional element might appear to be scientific, but underneath it's make-believe. Drawing a line to say breasts are wrongbad science but muscles are goodright science is just another arbitrary line on the beach.

This was just an unfortunate coincidence. People were talking about realistic proportions in the art, and Di Terlizzi is about as unrealistic as it gets. Just happened to be a Planescape picture but, really, could have been any of his. Heck, how about this one;

I was completely kidding with my post. Like KM I like Di Terlizzi's art, despite the obvious flaws you pointed out, which I agree with.

I've got the normal ten. Six on the left and four on the right. But I still can't find a pair of gloves that fit well.

once when I was drunk I was counting on my fingers and only got to 9... but I sobered up and found the finger I lost... I still have ten
