Neat! I was somewhat concerned they downpowered her for a "balanced" final boss- it's good to know that, if the party fails to avert her return, they're as good as deadShe is CR 30.
I hope deities won't have stats in 5e, just like in 2e.
She is CR 30.
Unlikely to happen. The players want their hack & slash and a lot would likely feel betrayed when they can't stomp her at the end of the adventure.
Tarrasque CR30 or real CR30 with an railroad way to defeat her anyway?
Sorry, but I dare not. I am not DMing right now, and am currently playing Tyranny of Dragons, so I don't want to see too much of the statblock. The Tarrasque is a real CR 30. Also I recently learned that the stats for Tiamat are just in case she is summoned in the end. If she is there is apparently little to no chance of the party winning. Anyway I don't know how it works as I have not seen the statblock.
Anyway thalmin can you give any other details about Tiamat.
Think of it like a greater demon who is only banished for a while.Defeated but not killed? So its just an avatar?
Which is a demoting comparison for a true deity. I just hoped that if they went for statting deities they would do them justice.Think of it like a greater demon who is only banished for a while.

Someone above wrote he is glad they did not depower her. I disagree, being set on the same level as the tarrasque is depowering to a deity.
When the playtest had asmodeus at the same CR than an ordinary pitfiend there was much discussion. When asmodeus did not appear in the MM i hoped they reconsidered, now i see that they obviously did not
