D&D 5E [OOC] Securing the Alliance: An Adventure in Tethyr [ENDED]

Forged Fury

I did a little research over lunch and then realized that the answer is kind of right in front of me. I import an image of the Excel file into Paint to create the images for combat. I can easily create pretty much any radius circle in Paint with the excel file as a reference. I think the only AoEs that might be hinky after that are cones, but we can cross that bridge when we come to it.

So yeah, for sphere/circle/cylinder spells, just give me a center point (square or intersection) and I'll put a circle around it for the AoE. As I understand it, the DMG basically just says to include a target in the AoE if the circle covers half of their square.

I think that should satisfy everyone.

@Marcelus14 - I'm putting Gnorth at U9, which is as far as he can move after spending half his movement to dismount the cart. I should have been more specific, when you dismount the cart, you can place yourself in a square to which you are currently adjacent.

Bardic Inspiration and similar effects: Due to the vagaries of PbP, I'm making these abilities more powerful for players. Even if I've already announced the result or DC, you can still spend bardic inspiration or use one of those other abilities that can be used "after the roll, but before success or failure is announced." Having to wait for a player to get back to me is time consuming and I can edit the IC pretty easily if the action they take changes the results.

My wild surge check rolls didn't work in the IC thread, so I'm rolling them here. I'll link back to this post so you can see the results.

Egon: Before I adjudicate, are you intending I7 to be the northwest corner of the cube as had been mentioned previously in the AoE discussion? I'm wondering because you could probably target at least three of those targets (both hyenas and Gnoll 2) if you chose I6 instead of I7. Just wanted to get confirmation before I ran with it.

I was more looking for a clarification from you about what side Corilo was on when Brue first met him. My hope is that he was allied with a friendly side when she picked him up and carried him to the medic. Let me know?
Forged Fury got it right. My idea that Corilo was still conscripted in the villain's army when Brue saved him. That allowed him to switch sides.

Oh my, a battle. And I'm surprised. Damn you, lack of darkvision! :p
Forged Fury am I allowed to spend bardic inspiration to increase my AC even while surprised?

Good point Olrox17, since you're surprised, you can't spend a reaction, which is required to boost your AC. Thanks for pointing that out and sorry for your 10 HP loss.
Egon, I think I know what you were planning. Unless you say otherwise, I'm going to have the web cover an area from G6-G9 to J6-J9.

That's what I was planning; both Hyenas and both Gnolls in that section of the map. If you need me to start centering on intersections instead of actual squares, just let me know and I can state it that way. Otherwise, I can always say "I'm covering this section of the map" when it comes up again.

Got it. I think for cubes, maybe we just do the intersection since the AoE can be outside of the range of the spell. Makes it easier to check everything.

Rolling saves here to not junk up the IC thread as it is the start of both the hyena and gnolls turns:

DC 13 DEX Save
Gnoll2: [roll0]
Gnoll3: [roll1]
Hyena1: [roll2]
Hyena2: [roll3]
