Armando's claim isn't correct. Wood Elf Magic learn that spell. Jeremy hasn't good reputation to rulling.
Jeremy is the lead designer and official rules guy. What he says goes, as far as RAW and RAI go. You can say you don't agree with his ruling, but you *can't* say that he's wrong. It simply doesn't work that way.

I agree the other poster was wrong, but I don't believe JC was referring to that post when he agreed with the poster. I believe it was the poster's previous post he was agreeing 100% with.
What is there that is confusing here?

Isaac Leong asks if you can cast the spells granted by the elf magic feats (including Wood Elf Magic) using spell slots.
Armando Doval points him to the Magic Initiate ruling.
I point out that the wording was different and aren't sure if it applies in this case.
Armando Doval points out that the feat doesn't say you learn the spell or that it counts as a spell for the purpose of a particular class.
Jeremy Crawford replies saying that what Armando Doval has said is correct.

Personally, I think it's just that the Wood Elf Magic feat is poorly worded (as are quite a few things in Xanathar's). It ought to work like Magic Initiate, if for no other reason than consistency (and to avoid power creep).

I thought u used wish on simulacrum?
Why? The Simulacrum is previously casted.
Good, even with 6 wizards casting meteor swarm, even knowing that they can simply use meteor swarm against only illusions. Well, Nameless King is not dead yet and now his wizards are in trouble.

He did not talk about Wood Elf Magic, he just agreed with Armando.
BUT Armando's statement is wrong (EXPLICITLY) and jeremy has no good reputation. Wood Elf Magic effective learn that spell.
I will not agree to an explicitly wrong statement even if Jeremy agrees with her.
Wood Elf Magic isn't poor worded.

Why? Because the whole idea here is that your "coffeelock" is invincible because he never takes long rests. Without a long rest, he only gets one 9th level spell slot. If he uses it to wish a simulacrum into existence, then he can't use it to do anything else.

Now, if you're arguing that the *simulacrum* is casting his own wish to teleport away ... fine. So the simulacrum gets away while the original villain is getting pummeled to death by meteors. Now what? He can't ever regain spell slots, so that's his one 9th level spell slot gone forever.

No, he takes long rest.
He only needs to trance when he uses Wish in extreme cases.
But it is not forbidden to take long rests.
He must also renew the Simulacrum.
Gone forever? Why? Just take longe rest after the battle and up him spells again.
No, The Simulacrum uses Revify and Nameless King uses Wish: Teleport.
Or just back to clone. And now the Wizards are in serious trouble.
Detail, if they are not just hit illusions, then the problem only increases.

I was referring to the simulacrum. Never mind.

So the villain casts wish to make a simulacrum, then long rests to get his 9th level slot back, then spends umpteen years building up his ridiculous number of spell slots again before this battle? Just want to make sure I'm on the same page as you (which is *really* hard to do, giving the language barrier and all that).

The villain is not born now, he is an elf. He had enough time for preparation. This battle is 3 wizards matching your spells to try to kill him, but, they may just be hitting illusions. Even so with 3 swarm meteor is not enough to kills him. Anyway, they are in trouble.

Detail: We are ignoring illusions and The villain using subtle spells against them and indirect combat. But, there may be the key to defeat.
I did not want to appeal, but it seems that with 3 wizards it is not necessary to reduce the power so the villain can be defeated.
he best way is to exhaust their resources. And with my tactic, they have no chance.

The simulacrum can't cast wish. It was already used by the CL, and since the Sim is a copy, it's copied with the 9th slot used up. And the Sim will never get spell slots back.
