Are you aware that Luke Cage first appeared in 1972? She-Hulk 1980? Iceman 1963?

FWIW, other notable black supers in Marvel & DC comics:

Black Panther 1966
Falcon 1969
Blade 1973
Storm 1975

John Stewart (Green Lantern) 1971
Tyroc 1976
Black Lightning 1977
Cyborg 1980

I have to love it:

Lets all be inclusive... but not you other people. No mouth breathing basement dwellers playing my DnD m'kay!
I think you missed the quick discussion of Karl Popper's paradox of tolerance we had a while back. There's been an answer to this since at least 1945. Here goes again, because this 'why aren't you tolerant of my intolerance?' whining comes up literally. every. time.

"if a society is tolerant without limit, their ability to be tolerant will eventually be seized or destroyed by the intolerant. Popper came to the seemingly paradoxical conclusion that in order to maintain a tolerant society, the society must be intolerant of intolerance."

"Nerd" and "basement-dweller" aren't the problematic parts. It's the "misogynist" part.

So? The She-Hulk has been canceled how many times now? (3? 4?) As someone who will literally read anything She-Hulk, it hasn't exactly been a solid run since the 80's. It's not like her getting canceled means she's deleted from comic-book-dom forever. Srsly.

Also this is sort of an odd response to my post, ignoring the meat of which addressed your core of your argument that many of the new "diversity" comics people are complaining about are quite successful, and the ones you named as being canceled are neither new, nor created solely for diversity (at least not with the modern push for such things). Are you aware that Luke Cage first appeared in 1972? She-Hulk 1980? Iceman 1963?

I don't know your history with comics, but your post seems eerily reminiscent of numerous other posts I see across the internet on the subject.

Yes we live in an age where us peons are more capable of catching the rich-folk with their feet in their mouth.

I am still double-checking the Iceman one, but from what I read on one site he was apparently turned gay. But, I can't get a direct confirmation. Until I have my facts in order on that, I'm holding off on commenting to parts of what you said.

After all, it's not just rich people we catch with sock breath.

Bull.

"Please, Mr. Mearls, stop doing anything to piss off alt-right incel D&D nerds! They are scary!"

Dude, seriously. This whole damn time you've been doing this thing where you're both pleading the pro-misogyny case while also encouraging we surrender to them. We're way past the point where trolls troll only to get a rise out of their target - trolls nowadays are performing for each other.

What pro-misogyny case? Seriously, I want quotes from my posts.

Where did I argue to surrender to them? I want quotes there as well.

You are inventing a series of posts I never made. I did argue not to feed the trolls (post 448), and even suggested other ways of handling this situation that would have been better (post 507). I did point out there's more than just trolling for attention going on here (post 514). I did even suggest that the status quo we should keep is the one where Kate Welch is employed by WotC (post 507).

But I did not at any time argue that they are in the right or that we should capitulate.

I suspect the reason why some people think so is they operate under binary thinking on this; there is either "engage" or "capitulate" to them. But there is a third option, and the one I back: "change the rules of engagement."

It literally does.
Read the link I just posted upthread. And posted many pages beforehand. Yours is not a novel objection, and there's been a solid response to it for 70+ years now.

A society that values tolerance must not tolerate intolerance.

It was retconned that he was gay, yes. He only just admitted it to himself.

Please refer to Obryn's post above.

But, seriously, should we openly welcome misogynists into gaming? Nazis? The KKK? ISIS?
Would you host a game for them?

I would! In an ocean liner, right over the Marianas Trench. The game will be a LARP, where they dive down to the bottom of the trench without SCUBA gear on. While encased in concrete up to their necks.

They're all invited to come and play...
