Artificer. My characters have always been gear toward being the Q of the group. Whatever is needed for the mission ahead, I make or procure. I have been ok at doing this in 5e so far but a dedicated class would be perfect.

Samurai, ninja and sohei like martial adepts, with combat maneuvers from "Tome of Battle: book of the nine swords".

Binders with vestige pact magic.

Warlord like a martial adept with maneuvers from the school "White Raven".

Totem shaman, with incarnum soulmelds about monster traits (senses, wings, natural weapons or amour..).

Psionic ardent, to create stories about love-hate relations with the rest of divine spellcasters.

Warmage like a mixture of sorcerer with light armour and martial adept.

Assasin, like a mixture of rogue (+ pathfinder slayer) and martial adept with maneuvers from the school "shadow hand".

Soulknife, like a mixture of psionic and martial adept.

Favored soul: mixture of spontaneous divine spellcaster with armour and some soulmelds (incarnum powers) about "monster templates". It may be a hook for stories about conflicts with the rest of divine spellcasters.

A class like the pathfinder summoner, but with soumelds for the "pet", or a gadgeteer with contruct allies.

Alchemist, a mixture of Eberron artificier and incarnum soulmelds.

Artificer, Mystic (Psion), and Warlord as full classes. I never played a Warlord in 4e, but I know that it has a lot of features that wouldn't cut it as a sub-class, and it's very popular. Jester might make a nice sub-class for Bards or Rogues. Alchemist definitely needs to be added as currently Alchemy is pitiful, but I'm not sure if it needs a full class or just a sub-class. Summoner as a sub-class for Wizards. Since WOTC has already introducted several OA classes as subclasses (i.e. Samurai and Kensai), they might as well do Ninja and the remainder. Witch I'm not sure about - I liked the 4e class that combined Arcane and Divine magic, but there's the Divine Soul Sorcerer and Bard already doing that job. I wish they would DEFINE the term "witch" for the game, though, whether they make it a class or not. And a Vestige Pact for the Warlock - those are cool and creepy.

Many things you are listing already have a common representative... In the PHB. Ninjas are the Way of the Shadow (they even call them ninjas). And in many ways, an Assassin rogue covers much of the ground, only with a cultural approximation. The witch is the warlock, only female.

In pre- New-Age/neo-Pagan terms, sure. But a proper witch these days doesn't make any pacts with devils (nor even fey or whatever). The HotFw Witch sub-class of Wizard is probably more what's being looked for, here, if you've ever seen that one...

I could personally see a Wizard subclass, but I'm not sure what would be missing already from a (say) Divination Wizard with the desired background?

There's nothing in particular missing from the abilities of any one tradition relative to any other, they're really pretty minor compared to spell choice. An illusionist can blow away enemies with fireballs; an invoker can cast Foresight.

Right, I meant what is there to a "witch" that wouldn't fit in the already present archetypes?
