Legend
So lots of people seem put off by the idea that you can "legendary" fall from any hight.
Despite the fact that you could "magically" do it in every single edition of D&D (i.e. feather fall).

So which do you prefer? Legendary skills, requiring magic.

The poll seems like it’s not really addressing the crux of the dispute.

On one hand, Legendary skill feats seem to allow characters to do things that would be impossible in real life. There is no disputing that. The real question is, should “impossible in real life” necessarily mean magical in Golarion (or whatever other world you play Pathfinder in)?

Personally, I say no. This is a world where Psionic power exists and is considered distinct from magic, so clearly magic is a specific thing in this world and not all fantastical phenomena are caused by magic. This is a world where dragons can fly and giants don’t collapse under their own weight even in antimagic fields, so clearly what is possible by nomagical means exceeds what is possible in real life. So to me, I have no problem with people who’s ability in a certain field is the stuff of legend being able to do things that would be impossible in real life, without needing to call it magic.

If it is magical, then it is magical. There can be different kinds of magic − and different sources for it − but magic is magic.

So the rogue landing from an impossible height is an example of ‘soul magic’. Compare the monk ki.

And what kind of magic is “giants existing in flagrant violation of the square-cube law” an example of?

If half serious, maybe giants are impossibly large because of ‘soul magic’ (lifeforce, ki). Similarly, the soul magic that allows the seemingly nonaerodynamic dragon to fly.

On the other hand, I characterize giants as elementals. There are ‘fire’ giants, ‘water’ frost giants, ‘earth’ cliff giants, even ‘air’ storm giants.

So the magic that makes a giant impossibly large is, the physical body: elemental magic. The cliff giant isnt a human who is the size of a mountain. Rather, the cliff giant is an actual mountain made out of stone that got up and is moving around on two feet.

So, why is soul magic immune to dispellation and anti-magic?
