I find Twitter to be very reactive, even moreso than a lot of other social media. When I read something outrageous on Twitter, I make sure to check my resources and do some research before sharing it with others. Especially if the post is written in a way to create strong emotions, and especially when I agree with the intent!

So to sum up:

The artist originally made her White.

WotC said "Make her Darker."

The artist made her Darker.

The forward facing art has been the Darker art.

An old file got accidentally uploaded as a Wallpaper with the White art.

People got pissed that apparently WotC was going to whitewash the character.

The issue was fixed and the darker character version was uploaded.

Problem explained and solved and people are largely being reasonable once it's explained.
